NOT ENOUGH SLEEP: when you’re tired, the normal chemicals flowing to your brain become disrupted. To get the rest you need, stick to a regular bed, and turn off the television and radio well before turning in.
SKIPPING MEALS: fasting often triggers hypoglycemia: a drop in blood sugar causes a chemical cascade to bring about a pain in the head. If you find yourself with a headache at the end of your weekly fast, it’s time to relook that tradition! To make it worse, “fasting foods” such as dry fruits and nuts may aggravate the situation, as certain chemicals in them precipitate headaches.
A drop in blood sugar is behind weekend headaches as well. These typically strike after you’ve slept in. to keep your blood sugar regulated, eat at the same time every morning even if that means getting up and having a glass of juice or some crackers, then going back to bed.
